Good morning! This is Chuck Walker with Alliance IT. This morning I just want to give a little information for those more on the administrative and the financial side of the business. It has to do with budgeting and more appropriately right now, I’m going to talk about some of the things that you should or should not be looking for in your IT budget beyond the obvious of the equipment, your repair costs and your internet costs and things like that.
Many of us right now are looking at things like insurance renewals. We’re going into the stormy season of the year here in Florida and so we’re looking to make sure we’ve got correct coverages. Do you have cyber security insurance coverage? Many people are now picking it up and adding it to their policies. It’s typically inexpensive depending on the type of industry you’re in, some industries that may be required and very advisable for you from a standpoint of the expense of if you are hacked. Hacking can come from many areas and you want to be protected, not only protected from what we can offer you as far as the prevention of, but what if it happens so makes sure you got coverage on the backside.
So, cyber security is more than just putting up our defenses. Let’s also make sure we’re protected on the backside. There have been several increases in the amounts of loss and the reporting requirements out there if something goes – information gets out there and your cyber security insurance policy is there to protect you. So, talk to your local insurance company. We’re not insurance experts. We just work with them when and if necessary. But again, this is something you may want to look at when you’re doing your budgeting in insurance reviews.
