You’ve probably heard about 5G, the next greatest high-speed wireless out there, 10 times faster than 4G. It’s not a myth. It’s not a legend. It is coming right there, you know. You’ve got gigabit Wi-Fi, getting up to 1.3-gigabyte speeds over the Wi-Fi.
So no longer is your hardwired going to be required in a lot of businesses unless you’re going 10 gig and then you got a big advantage. But I think most of us in the small and mid-sized world, we’re still running on that gigabit hardwired.
So Wi-Fi is coming right up behind there to support that from multi-streaming videos to more data, faster, better. We get more mobile devices out there in the manufacturing field and less need for that physical cable to run out to those machines.
Quantum computing, block chain, they’re all true technologies. They’re not just some keyword or myth that we hear about and nothing ever materializes.
Block chain, you may associate that to cryptocurrencies but you’re going to see more and more block chain in the Industrial Age. It’s going to really separate itself out of these cryptocurrencies and it’s going to be converging more into applications and machine learning, IoT, the internet of things, more high-end computing.
So watch for those transformations as well. Again, we’re going to see a lot of those adoptions in the enterprise world but they will affect and trickle down into a small, mid-sized business market.
